RSS Infrastructure has donated refurbished laptops to Donisthorpe Primary School, a small village school with just over 200 pupils. Simon Capper led this initiative from the Rail Operations division, whose daughter attends the school. Understanding the school’s ongoing fundraising efforts to improve its IT resources, Simon saw an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.
The refurbished laptops were prepared with care, and the school’s ICT technician installed special apps and software to ensure they were ready for use by the pupils.
Boosting ICT Opportunities for Students
Jamie Williamson, Deputy Headteacher at Donisthorpe Primary School, expressed the importance of this donation:
“We have been raising funds over the past several years to improve our ICT offer to children, including holding events for parents. Receiving these extra laptops will mean extra access to technology in Computing lessons for our children. Computing is a vital subject, and this means we can help develop children’s word processing and coding skills and facilitate online interactions. This support allows our children to be prepared for life beyond school and maybe even become tomorrow’s computer programmers.”
The additional laptops will significantly enhance the school’s ability to provide valuable digital skills training to its pupils, helping to prepare them for a technology-driven future.
