On 27th February, members of the RSS Infrastructure team gave up the comfort of their beds for a night on the cold, hard floor of Birmingham New Street station—all in support of a life-changing cause. We were proud to take part in the Railway Children Big Station Sleepout, raising vital funds and awareness to help protect vulnerable children across the UK, India, and Tanzania.
Every year, thousands of children around the world are forced to flee their homes due to poverty, abuse, violence or neglect. Many end up living alone on the streets, exposed to unimaginable dangers and at risk of exploitation. It’s a heartbreaking reality—but one we can help to change.
Early intervention is crucial. The sooner these children are reached, the greater their chances of a safer future—before they slip through the cracks or fall victim to harm.
That’s why we’re proud to support Railway Children, a remarkable charity working tirelessly to prevent children from living alone and at risk on the streets. From outreach and safeguarding to family reunification and long-term care, their work has a transformative impact.
A huge well done to our fantastic colleagues—Monica Barbosa, Leanda Waring, and Thomas Harris—who braved the cold and helped shine a light on such an important cause.
We’re delighted to share that, thanks to everyone’s incredible support, the fundraising target has been reached—an amazing achievement that will make a real impact on vulnerable young people.
At RSS Infrastructure, we are committed to supporting initiatives that reflect our values of safety, compassion and social responsibility. Together, we can help create a safer, more hopeful future for every child.
