Gold Star Recognition at Llanfairfechan

Gold Star Recognition at Llanfairfechan

RSS Infrastructure’s Graham Talbot was delighted to learn one of his Arboriculture & Vegetation Management teams, as part of the Off Track team at Llanfairfechan, has been awarded a ‘Gold Star’ in recognition of their work at this high-profile site by Network Rail Wales Route.

Working Safely, Lawfully and Efficiently

All of the Off Track team have been working exceptionally well to strict guidelines, which is crucial that they follow correctly. They have dealt with abuse and threatening behaviour. Still, they have remained calm and professional throughout. The team have been taking 5 when required to re-evaluate any situation, allowing them to keep working safely, lawfully and efficiently.

The Off Track team leadership team consists of Damon Carberry, Aaron Miles and Martin Campbell supported by RSS Infrastructure staff; Barry Rowlands, Justin Thomas, Liam Marshall and Wayne Sims.

Hard Work and Professionalism

Adrian Jones, Section Supervisor – Off Track, Shrewsbury & Llandudno commented, “On behalf of Network Rail and myself personally, I would like to thank RSS for the continued hard work and professionalism that the team working in Llanfairfechan have demonstrated throughout this challenging worksite.”

“The job at Llanfairfechan rapidly became a high-profile site, involving multiple Ecologists, Arborists, Public Complaints and at one point was even escalated to the Network Rail Chief Executive Andrew Haines. Network Rail Wales Route Director, Bill Kelly, travelled to Llanfairfechan on Friday 13th November 2020 to personally thank everyone working on this worksite and was extremely impressed with the professionalism and hard work that the team of four RSS contractors had displayed to him.”

“Once again, thank you for the continued hard work and effort that RSS Infrastructure has offered to us, it is extremely reassuring to have teams we can rely on and trust, for productivity, efficiency and safety.”

A Great Honour

Echoing Adrian’s words we’d also like to acknowledge the high levels of effort and professionalism shown by everyone in the Off Track team, but in particular, the four RSS team members, working on this challenging worksite. To be awarded a ‘Gold Star’ recognition, celebrating success by Network Rail Wales Route, is a great honour for those involved and for the company.

Russell Bradshaw, Group HSQE Manager, commented, “To start the working week off reading such positive feedback is very gratifying. I know from witnessing these teams at work, they are the embodiment of everything that RSS Infrastructure stands for.”

A huge well done to the teams working in Wales from everyone at RSS Infrastructure. Keep up the excellent work.
